MESSAGE FROM THE CO-EDITOR
I wish I had something profound to share in today’s newsletter but as I didn’t even have it ready to do till about an hour before sending it, that should tell you…it’s gonna be a rather incomplete one but with good reason and I hope there will be some of you who can relate?

NEWS NEWS NEWS
They say “no news is good news” and I hope that’s true because I literally have no news, at least not news as it pertains to Beyond the Wizard. I do want to say that I recently have taken to think of us as a Book Club but I realize it doesn’t run that way at all and so I wanted to run something by you, if you’ll indulge me, in the form of a poll. You know how much I love polls and you all seem to be receptive to answering them so here goes:
If this helps you answer those questions, we would have the group voice chat using the Discord Server that I created and shared with all of you last month. If you haven’t joined, you can do so HERE. The time of day would probably be worked out within the server itself so as to get feedback from those who are already in the server. And as we are more than halfway through the second book I would likely start these round table discussions utilizing voice chat (I promise I’ll come up with a much cooler name for it) when we start on the third book. This will also give me more time to figure out more about the logistics of it.
READING UPDATE
Not to be confused with the CHAPTER CATCH-UP below. This is just a place where I like to share our graph that shows how many of us are reading the chapters each week. We’re 2/3 of the way through the book! Very exciting! Share your thoughts so far in the comments!
JUNE CHAPTER CATCH-UP
CHAPTER IX.—The Scarecrow Plans an Escape.
CHAPTER X.—The Journey to the Tin Woodman.
CHAPTER XI.—A Nickel-Plated Emperor.
CHAPTER XII.—Mr. H. M. Woggle-Bug, T. E.
CHAPTER XIII.—A Highly Magnified History.
CHAPTER XIV.—Old Mombi Indulges in Witchcraft.
CHAPTER XV.—The Prisoners of the Queen.
CHAPTER XVI.—The Scarecrow Takes Time to Think.
A PERSONAL NOTE FROM THE CO-EDITOR
Life moves rather quickly and if you’re not careful it will pass you by. That seems like my life these past couple of weeks, really, the last month. I don’t want to bore you with the details but my wife and I have made the decision to move. In order to do that we first need to sell our house. So, we are in selling a house hell. If you’ve ever done it before then you know how stressful it can be. Especially, after making an offer on a house and having that offer accepted, contingent upon selling your house! It’s been a lot. And until the dust settles it will be stressful! Suffice it to say, because of this setback I am behind in my chapters.
I’m desperately trying to catch up. I almost feel like I shot myself in the foot when I felt two chapters a week would be ideal. Especially as it was during a time when I was speeding through one a week like nothing. But that’s life, right? Some days are easier than others and I find myself about 7 chapters behind-ish…
Are you behind? If so, I’d love to commiserate as we attempt to get on the same page (literally) with everyone else. Hit reply in this email or just leave a comment.
I live Baums writing and am really enjoying this Oz series.
I'd prefer to have book club meetings in text
