The tiger here is none other than the Hungry Tiger, a character that appears in later books (I just finished Ozma of Oz which is his first appearance fully characterized)
While I applaud your enthusiasm in reading ahead, there might be some here who have never read past the first book and for them, let’s try not to mention spoilers and just stick to what we’ve read so far in our discussions. Thanks!
So, all three of Dorothy's companions now has a kingdom. Also, it amuses me that despite thetext saying the exposition is being delivered by a tiger, the illo shows The Lion talking to a bear. Also, that's two classic works of fantasy I know of where a monstrous giant spider's fearsomeness is emphasized via traits *spiders don't have*.
Huh, this is an example of the lion displaying some of the courage he got from the wizard. Also, there’s a tiger here, so Dorothy’s fear of encountering them (I can’t remember if that’s only in the movie) isn’t unfounded

Yes, this chapter contains lions *and* tigers *and* bears (or at least one of each).
Welp that was fast
