As was I. But as she's been characterized as pretty self-centered (up to a point) or maybe you could argue she's just very adamant and focused on returning home, she can't be bothered to worry about anyone else. She is a child, after all.
I will say these monkey's are quite fascinating and I would be surprised if an entire novel was dedicated to their story.
I'm also curious to know who ends up with the hat next?

I’m guessing that the art for this chapter gave more than a few children nightmares. (The eyes. They want my soul.)
It's nice to read about Oz as Baum intended it to be, after so many years of seeing bad adaptations and distortions....
Yes. As someone who, somehow read the books first, it's always bugged me that people thing of the '30s movie with Judy Garland first.
