There appear to be a couple of places in this chapter where there's punctuation missing ("my creator—my parent—my father" and "I understand it perfectly—all but the explanation"). I don't know if this is a problem with your source text: on investigation, I find that Project Gutenberg, for instance, has two separate editions of the book, and one of them is missing the punctuation and one isn't.

I will check the source text that I chose from PG and see if I need to redo all the chapters from a different source. Thanks for the heads up.

Just wanted to give an update on this. I checked every version of the file for this book that is available here on PG: https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/54

I was not able to see in any of the files different punctuation. I also looked at the two print copies that I own of this book and in both instances the punctuation match what is on the PG website. If you can give me a direct link to the edition of the book where you see the punctuation included I can go about making the swap? Thanks!

Sorry, I should have specified: PG has an edition under the title "The Marvelous Land of Oz", #54, but also separately an edition under the title "The Land of Oz" - https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/53844 - which is the one that has the missing punctuation.

Ah I see! I will be going through and updating all of the chapters tomorrow, hopefully before the next chapter happens on Wednesday. Rest assured it will definitely be updated before the next Oz Gazette. I have gone ahead and updated the TEXT link in The Oz Books page to point to the link you've provided.

“Then I owe you obedience,” continued the man, “and you owe me—support.”

Love this contrast to the awful Tip/Mombi dynamic! Tip doesn't have an example of healthy parenting to follow, but it warms my heart to see him trying.

(Also enjoying the Dorothy lore! She and her friends really did overhaul the entire political landscape of Oz, huh...)

I feel like LFB is engaging in some self-deprecating humor here, and I love it.
