I have an important decision to make. Now that we’ve finished reading Book 7 in the Wizard of Oz series of 40 books:
a. Do I continue reading the series as planned?
b. Do I stop here and go back to the very beginning?
c. Do I stop altogether and reflect on why I started this and whether or not it’s worth continuing?
At this time I need to reflect more than anything. The point of Beyond the Wizard was to give me a motivator to read all of the stories so I could write my own twist on this tale. But somewhere along the way I allowed myself to be dissuaded from this purpose. Instead, it became a place where I was only releasing chapters of the books without much of anything else. I stopped releasing The Oz Gazette, which was my favorite part of this journey. I miss it. I miss not implementing all the ideas I had beyond just reading the stories week-to-week.
It is my own fault for not just persevering and doing what I wanted regardless of how everyone else may or may not have felt about it. I realize many of you came here just for the chapters and perhaps I didn’t do the best job of explaining the purpose of Beyond the Wizard and its intentions moving forward.
So, I completely understand if you all unsubscribe from here once I say, Beyond the Wizard will end on Book 7 and I don’t foresee it returning in 2025. I need to find that spark that I had last year when I started this up and hopefully that spark will ignite me into what’s next for Beyond the Wizard.
Till we meet again I wish you all well in the new year and appreciate tremendously all of you who’ve remained and continued to read the stories and leave comments with your thoughts.
Sincerely Yours,
A Traveler Through Oz…
I would enjoy reading more books together. Decide for yourself. When ever you are ready, this community you built will be here waiting.
You acquainted me with many books in this series beyond the best known first one, and I thank you for that.
